If You Win A Grammy Award. . .

Don’t hang it over your studio desk.

Most artists will never get nominated for a Grammy award, and they don’t want to be reminded. It also feels a little braggy to push an award you won, in the face of everyone.

But on the other hand. . .

If you’re trying to help an artist deal with the fear so they can do their best work, then yes, hang it up somewhere they’ll see it (or maybe you’re the artist, and you need to be reminded).

And definitely lead with it if you’re trying to get a show booked, a record deal signed, or an opening slot on a tour secured.

There’s a place for awards, and that’s in service to helping art be made in the future.
