What if no one ever saw your art?

Less of a blog today, and more of a long question:

What would your art look like if:

• No one ever saw it, ever

• You never sell even one copy

• Nobody could criticize you for making it

• You had no bills to pay with it (but all your bills were paid)

• You could use any tools in the world and spend as much time as you want, but could never tell anybody about what you’re working on, or how you are making it

• Even after you’re gone, no one will see your art or benefit from it

Another way of phrasing this: what would happen if you eliminated all external validation or criticism, and commercial elements from your art?
