I just got the Sweetwater Gear Magazine in the mail today, and it made me start thinking about what a musician really needs to have to be successful. So here's my list of the essential stuff I would take if I was stranded on a desert island (with a wifi connection and plenty of electricity, of course.)
This would be one-thing-covers-all piece of gear, since it includes marketing, writing, performing, and recording music.
Blue's Baby Bottle microphone
You need a quality mic to make quality recordings, and this is the best all-in-one out there for the price.
Focusrite's Scarlett 2i2 audio interface
It has the best preamps, sounds clear, and gets my music into my computer with no hassle.
Nord Stage 88 keyboard
This is the only keyboardists only thing on this list. I would pick this over a grand for the versatility.
Sandproof cases for everything
Cases are the unsung heroes of the gear world, but still one of the best investments you can make in your career.
