Clear
I recently purchased a vintage synthesizer called a Roland Juno-106 (incredibly, my first vintage keyboard ever).
It’s a wonderful keyboard, and has already made it on to several projects I’m working on.
But it’s really simple.
No onboard effects, no fancy oscillator types, and it’s only possible to play 6 notes at a time.
Because it’s simple, and what it does it does incredibly well, it’s the first thing I reach for when I need “that sound”.
It pays to be a generalist, and it’s important to be well rounded. But being clear about those one or two things you’re world class at will keep you in business.
