Not Who You’d Think

Having lived and worked in Nashville for 12 years now, I’ve been surprised by a few things.

It’s rarely the people who are the most talented that end up doing well career-wise.

It’s usually:

• The person that is fairly talented (but not the most talented), and

• Is fun to be around

• Is consistent

• Is trustworthy

• Shows up prepared

• Is able to keep showing up in the music scene for a long, long time

This is great news for those of us not in the “super talented” category, because you can build all of the virtues above with practice.
